Brandon Williams – CEO

Brandon’s career spans industries from software and banking, to telecom infrastructure development and nuclear engineering. He is the Founder of IgniteIP, an innovative technology commercialization investment firm. Brandon and his partners acquired foundational technology and intellectual property as the kernel for CPLANE NETWORKS. For our company, Brandon has attracted and led a world class team of executives, advisors and investors; and he has acquired additional strategic intellectual property to set the stage for CPLANE’s leadership in network virtualization.

Prior to IgniteIP, Brandon was involved with a number of companies including positions as the CFO of an international telecommunications infrastructure developer; a founding manager of a middleware software company; an investment banker with Citibank in New York; and a nuclear submarine officer for the United States Navy.

Brandon holds a BA in Liberal Arts from Pepperdine University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

John Casey – VP Engineering, CTO

John Casey contributes over 20 years of deep technology leadership. His proven success with a variety of technical leadership roles in Telecom, Enterprise and Government and in software design and development provide the foundation for the system architecture and engineering team.

Previously John led worldwide deployment teams for both IBM’s Software Group and Narus, Inc. His work in large scale, high performance system design at Transarc Labs and Walker Interactive Systems brings leadership to the CPLANE NETWORKS product suite.

Robert Keahey – VP Marketing

Robert was Partner and Founder of SummaLogic LLC, an IT and business consultancy that specializes in business and technology strategy, marketing and product development across a variety of business and technology sectors. As Vice President, Industry Solutions and CTO at Cordys US, Inc. he directed the development of industry and technology solutions for Cordys’ high performance BPMS platform.

Prior to his role at Cordys Robert was Director of Information Technology Outsourcing Architecture and Innovation Centers at Electronic Data Systems (EDS), partnering with industry-leading technology providers to create EDS’ three-year strategic technology roadmap. Robert held many other leadership and industry-related roles at EDS, including the development of EDS’ global networking and web hosting capabilities.

Robert has a BS degree in Computer Science from the University of Louisiana.

Bruce Ericson – SVP Global Sales

Bruce brings twenty years of executive sales and business development experience in the enterprise B2B and infrastructure software markets. His most recent role was Vice President of Global Sales at Azul Systems, the leading independent supplier of on premise and cloud based Java runtime platforms. Prior to that, Bruce was Vice President of Global Sales at NetBase Solutions, a market leading mid-stage SaaS startup delivering social media monitoring and B2C/ B2B business intelligence solutions.

Bruce led the sales team at Real Time Innovations where he built the company into the market share leader for highly complex real time middleware/infrastructure solutions. Previously, Bruce built the sales team at VenturCom that contributed to an acquisition by Citrix. Bruce was a founding member of the sales team at Motorola’s Computer Group.

Bruce has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University.

Plamen Minev – SVP Product Management

Plamen brings over 20 years of experience developing and bringing to market innovative Telecom, Enterprise and Cloud solutions. His wealth of leadership, market and technology experience was acquired at multiple startups and Fortune 500 companies including Cisco, CITTIO, Insursys, Topspin, Promatory and SUN Microsystems. Prior to CPLANE NETWORKS Plamen was member of Cisco Chief Technology and Architecture Office and the Cloud and Virtualization Group where he was part of the engineering leadership team delivering advanced SDN, NFV, OSS, IoT and Cloud products and solutions.

Plamen holds a MS degree in Computer Science from Sofia Technical University, Bulgaria

N. Fryett – Advisor

Fryett is experienced in strategic partnerships and new business development. As Vice President at IgniteIP, he is focused on aligning external relationships critical to deal execution and is involved in many aspects of the investment lifecycle for the firm’s portfolio companies. Prior to IgniteIP, Fryett worked for several technology start-ups: a network and systems management company, a technology and market research platform, and an Internet content provider.

Vlad Dabija

Vlad is a technologist, a technology investor, a business strategist and an entrepreneur who has worked in four countries on three continents and has led technology development teams worldwide. He recently served as CEO of Green Border Technologies, Inc, a venture-backed company he co-founded. Before that, Vlad was a Partner at CMEA Ventures in San Francisco, where he invested in numerous early stage technology start-ups. He has more than 20 years experience in computer technology, including software, artificial intelligence, enterprise security and networking. At Sun Microsystems, he held managerial positions in corporate development and software architecture and development. Previously at Ashton Tate Corporation, he worked as senior software engineer. Vlad also consulted with numerous high-tech start-up and venture capital firms on business strategy and technology issues.

Vlad holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University, and an MBA with Distinction from The Wharton School of Business where he was named a Palmer Scholar.

Industry Advisory Board

Dr. Julie Shimer

Dr. Shimer brings 30 years of networking product development experience with major communications companies including Motorola, 3Com and AT&T Bell Laboratories. She currently serves as a director of two NASDAQ listed technology companies Netgear, Inc. (NTGR), and Earthlink (ELNK), as well as NYSE listed company Halyard Health, Inc. (HYH). Dr. Shimer contributes significant operational experience earned in both early stage technology companies as well as billion dollar enterprises. She formerly served as CEO of Welch Allyn, Inc., a manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, and was President and CEO of Vocera Communications, Inc., a provider of wireless communications systems. She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University.

Eric Wolford

Eric Wolford is currently a venture partner with a leading venture capital fund in Silicon Valley. He is the past President of Riverbed Technologies, where he still serves on their board of directors. During his tenure at Riverbed, Mr. Wolford led a number of functions including products, marketing, business and corporate development, engineering and global consulting that helped to take the company public and to deliver growth from launch to $1B in revenue. Mr. Wolford also served as Senior Vice President of Products, Marketing and Business Development at NetVMG, a network management company acquired by Internap, and Vice President of Product Marketing and Management at Inktomi Corporation and FastForward Networks (which was acquired by Inktomi in October 2000), providers of content delivery management software.
